Patient and caring, someone who after a number of doctors making me believe I was a hypochondriac listened to me, really listened for the first time.

Met Mr James Hewes for the first time today to discuss test results and options. I was pleasantly surprised that Mr Hewes himself greeted me at waiting area and within minutes of the appointment time. After introductions and discussions about my illness history and current condition the test results, options, and all associated risks and benefits of these options were discussed. I had read up on my condition and likely options prior to the meeting, Mr Hewes kindly took the time to explain in detail all questions I had and explain the complications and variables of the test results which I found reassuring. Throughout the consultation I felt comfortable, at ease, unhurried, and extremely well cared for. Mr Hewes gave me total support to be able to make a confident unrushed decision, which for me is to opt for an operation. Thank you very much Mr Hewes for gold star care.

Mr Hewes was a fantastic surgeon who I felt listened to me and followed up my care twice on the day of surgery and once the following day before discharge. He gave clear information to follow and ensured I understood the importance of returning to him if I had any problems.

I was called into my appointment pretty much on time. Mr Hewes was polite, smiling and very ameanable . . He asked about my symptoms and any issues and then added his own professional input and opinion. With all the information I was then able to make a decision as to whether surgery was right for me at the moment. We agreed a plan together and I left very happy. A very nice Consultant that I can highly recommend :)
